In 2017, the Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of North Carolina authorized the creation of a program whose mission was to teach the esoteric aspects of Masonic ritual as it is worked in its Grand Jurisdiction. This was a progressive and proactive endeavor that focused on the hidden facets of the Craft that had long been neglected at both the local and jurisdictional levels. This was the first, Grand Lodge-sanctioned program of this type to be offered in America.
This book is the story of the development and implementation of what came to be called The Middle Chamber Program. It traces the program's development from conceptualization to implementation. It demonstrates how a Grand Lodge can forge a path forward during the difficulties of a reduction in membership without compromising its integrity. A Path to Providence offers an alternative to the numbers-driven mentality, choosing instead to focus on quality and meaning.
However, primarily, it is an inside look at how the ancient Craft can unlock for its members the spiritual and philosophical keys to its ritual, which, as it has always been, is veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols.
